Play 'n Learn is a Certified Florida VPK Provider!!

Congratulations to the staff of Play ‘n Learn.

The Florida Department of Education publishes a VPK Provider Kindergarten readiness report. Our 1st year participating in the program we received the maximum possible score! The children that attended our Pre-K last year and are now enrolled in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools were tested to see how well their preschools prepared them for Kindergarten. Play'n Learn Preschool at Temple Samu-El Or Olom's was rated with a 300 which is the highest possible score.

Our name is our mission...

Our major emphasis is to create a playful and fun environment in which your child will be socially stimulated and enjoy learning.  The philosophy of our preschool program is that young children can develop a strong self image through the use of positive re-enforcement in a preschool curriculum that enhances cognitive, motor, language and social skills which increases kindergarten readiness.

Our day encourages activities in math, reading, science, language development, fine and gross motor skills.  We strive in building kindergarten readiness skills by helping them develop positive self-esteem, participate in decision making, adjust to routines and transitions, and to socialize with other children in appropriate ways. They are also encouraged to respect classmates, teachers and themselves.

 

These goals are achieved through a variety of hands-on activities and experiences that address the whole child and seek to make learning fun. Our professional staff ensures that individual needs are met and nurtured in a warm, loving and supportive environment.

Our hope is that every child leaves our school with a solid foundation on which knowledge and positive self-esteem can grow and flourish.

  Registration continues for the 2008-2009 school year at Play'n Learn Preschool at Temple Samu-El Or Olom. Openings are still available in classes for students from 16 months through Pre-K. Operating daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  School year begins August 20th.  We are now accepting Child Eligibility Enrollment Certificates for the   Florida VPK program.  Register before February 15th for only $25.00

  INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF
  
  Our teaching staff is the fundamental strength of our program. We are proud of our teachers’ dedication to their students. High standards for instructional staff are vital for the professionalism of our school. Each member of our instructional staff holds state certifications or national licenses. During each academic year, our staff participates in professional growth workshops and seminars. Our staff members have been carefully screened and fingerprinted through Children and Family Services and have also completed State of Florida courses pertaining to Nutrition, Health and Safety, Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Growth and Development. We attribute the success of our school to our dedicated staff who average 10 years experience with our school.
   

CLASS PROGRAMS

Two's: For children who are 16 (sixteen) months by September 1st. As our toddlers begin to socialize we help them to develop a positive self image through a variety of crafts, music, drama, physical activities, and special events.
 

Three's: For children who are 3 years old by September 1st. Our children develop skills in listening, following directions, self-expression, and cooperative play. Number and letter recognition, development of fine and gross motor skills, as well as strengthening of self-confidence are major program goals.   

Pre-Kindergarten: For children who are 4 years old by September 1st, readiness skills are taught to prepare children for Kindergarten. Our Pre-K’s are given a sound basis for future reading and math ability in an exciting and fun manner.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

We are proud of our large, well equipped, enclosed, covered, and well padded playground, which the children use daily. Our Physical Education Specialist challenges the children with sports, games, aerobic exercise, and much more.

MUSIC

A major component of our curriculum is music. Our musical Specialist teaches singing, musical games and rhythmic activities. Our children enjoy an excellent introduction to music. Don’t be surprised if your children start singing the songs they have learned in school while at home or in the car!

JUDAISM

Our Judaic curriculum consists of Hebrew, Music, Dance, Crafts, Cooking, Bible Stories, Prayers, Weekly Shabbats with our Rabbi, Model Seder, Purim Carnival, Hanukkah Party and many other enjoyable and meaningful events that help our children appreciate the rich Heritage of Judaism.

I personally welcome you to the Play ‘n Learn Preschool. Our purpose is to provide each child with an enriching and stimulating Early Childhood Program. We strive to make your child’s first school experience positive and filled with memories to last a lifetime. Our preschool offers small classes and highly personalized attention. We will always try to be flexible to your needs.
