THE GOALS OF HEBREW EDUCATION
The goal of our educational program is to facilitate the
personal growth of our students in order to develop…
• a commitment to the ideals of Judaism.
• a feeling of pride in their Jewishness.
• a sense of Jewish continuity and kinship through the
knowledge of our history, culture and traditions.
• a commitment to the principle of the Jews as a united
people and to the State of Israel.
• a love for Jewish learning and the desire for lifelong
Jewish education.
TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS
Among other activities, students will learn to read in
Hebrew, with an emphasis on prayer, blessings and basic
vocabulary. At some stage they will be able to
participate in services and lead parts of them. They
will study and practice Jewish holidays, rituals, and
customs. The learning of biblical and modern Israel will
be an important part of their studies. They will talk
about the Torah portion of the week and understand its
laws and lessons.
